Season 2009

A good season as far as results go with a win in all of our friendly matches except one. Our senior Four of Bill Milroy, Jim Dempster, Ian Bowie and  Frank Kennedy won the Glasgow Bowling Association Championship. Shown here with President Walter Irvine and the trophy.

We ended in our usual mid table position in the Kelvin Allander League, although the Seniors finished second to Milngavie BC in the seniors league.

Our teams in the Glasgow League had a bad start to the season but ended mid table in Division Three.

The Invitation Triples was a great success thanks to the efforts of Arthur Dalley and our sponsors. The two teams from Singer's BC in Clydebank met in the Final.

We hosted the Doig Trophy (played for by the three Bearsden bowling clubs) and managed to win it with 64 shots to Killermont's 61 and Westerton's 50.

In Club competitions, the championship was won by Alistair Gunn who came from behind to defeat Bill Taylor 21-20 in a close match. In the President's competition Colin Beattie defeated  Kenneth Carlin.
