The club has 106 gentlemen (allegedly) and 74 lady members. Although our
Constitution allows for the ladies to opt for full and equal membership, at the
moment they have chosen to continue with reduced green access in return for a
reduced membership fee. The fees in 2009 are £150 for full membership and £75
for ladies.
We would be delighted to see junior members joining the Club, but we seem to be struggling against an image of bowls as suitable only for the aged and infirm. Where do they get that idea??? Especially as our Club Champion in 2008 was 17.
Most top bowlers nowadays are under thirty, and nearly every older bowler wishes they had taken it up in their younger days!!
If you consider you belong to the younger generation, come along with your mates and give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised!
