The annual Triples Competition took place on 22nd July with 9 visiting teams,
a team sponsored by Naylor Industries and 4 triples from the club. The event
took place in the spell of excellent weather which probably accounted for the
good bar takings!

The
eventual qualifiers from the sectional matches were Springwell B from Airdrie,
Westerton, Hyndland and the Bearsden B team skipped by Eddie Humphries. The
eventual finalists emerged after each came from behind on the last end to clinch
their place. In the final Springwell B defeated Westerton, and are shown
receiving their trophy and in front of the sponsor's banner. We are
grateful to Reg Vardy for their support.
